White Sox Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Rangers
|
Texas beat Chicago on the strength of starter Hideo Nomo's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-1. Moises Rangel came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-7. Chicago has now lost 5 consecutive games.
Texas used the timely hitting of Jason Varitek to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Everything felt in sync," said Nomo.
