Orioles Win Divisional Series
It went the distance, but the Baltimore Orioles finally disposed of the Kansas City Royals 7-3 in the series clincher at Royals Stadium 1973.

Winning the finale gave the Orioles the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Championship Series.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Baltimore first baseman David Ortiz. He batted .526 in the series, collecting 3 RBIs and scoring 5 runs.

"David deserves it," said Orioles manager Jeff Martin. "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Baltimore Orioles will play against the Seattle Mariners in the next round. Seattle won their series against the Minnesota Twins 3 games to 1. The Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 9th , 1998.
