Mets Claim 4-1 Triumph

The New York Mets defeated the Florida Marlins, 4-1, in National League action at Joe Robbie Stadium. New York pitcher Alex Medina had a standout performance. Medina yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-6. Jim Hvizda collected his 5th save.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Scott Lydy, the three-time All-Star . Lydy contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 4-1.
"It's still just a game," said Medina, "whether you win or lose."
New York bumps their record to 39-40 with the win.
