The New York Mets took down the Houston Astros by the score of 5-4 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the League Championship Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to New York starter Matt Murray, who threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball.

New York used a timely hit from Eddie Rios to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We found a way to get it done," Rios said.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 18th , 1999 at Shea Stadium 1979 in New York.
