White Sox Lose at Home, 6-2
|
Texas pitcher Hideo Nomo did his part in helping his team beat the Chicago White Sox, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The setback makes Chicago 47-68.
Texas left fielder Moises Alou contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 131st hit of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 3-2.
"Hideo gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Texas skipper Zach Redpath.
