The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place New York Yankees.

The New York Yankees dumped the Anaheim Angels, 7-6, in large part due to left fielder Ben Grieve. On the day, Grieve was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Yankees. John Braase earned save number 26 this season.

Had Ryan Radmanovich not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Radmanovich hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Yankees.

"We found a way to get it done," Grieve said.

The first-place Yankees go to 79-44.
