Royals Paste 8-2 Loss on Blue Jays
|
Kansas City and Toronto got after it at Skydome.
Kansas City Royals starter Rodolfo de Leon kept the Toronto Blue Jays hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. de Leon picked up the win for Kansas City, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
Cliff Floyd drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Kansas City. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Manny Mesa. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Kansas City skipper Gamma KC.
Toronto drops to 1-2.
