Diamondbacks Sunk by Phillies
Philadelphia Phillies starter Donnie Blair kept the Arizona Diamondbacks hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-2 win. Philadelphia now owns a record of 74-55.

There was more than one reason the Phillies beat the Diamondbacks, but Blair's big at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

Said losing manager Rock Brandt: "Give the Phillies credit. They played a better game than we did."
