The Blue Jays grabbed a win, 3-0, at Skydome, overcoming a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Vicente Tafoya. Tafoya went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Omar Bencomo collected his 7th save. The second-place Twins dropped to 32-23.
The Blue Jays got a big boost from left fielder Scott Morgan who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Twins hurler Vicente Tafoya. It was his 15th walk of the season and put Toronto on top, 1-0.
Afterward, Blue Jays manager Jeff Harvey was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
