Angels Rally to Nose Past Kansas City
|
Anaheim Angels starter Steve Avery was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. Avery, now 13-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The loss makes Kansas City 93-41.
Anaheim won the game in part because of Morgan Ensberg. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-2. For the game, Ensberg had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Avery attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
