Rockies Drop 8-3 Decision to Giants
|
Fernando Seguignol impressed in the 8-3 San Francisco win over Colorado. Seguignol went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Tony Mounce got the win, improving to 9-8. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 5. The win hiked the San Francisco record to 79-56.
Tim Salmon was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for San Francisco. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chien-Ming Wang. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Seguignol said in reaction to the win.
