Reds Defeated, 7-3, After Chicago Rallies
|
A good performance from third baseman Mike Lamb helped the Chicago White Sox defeat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-3. Lamb was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the White Sox. Aaron Sele, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 3-4. Cincinnati has now lost 7 in a row.
Lamb had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch slider from Carl Pavano, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the White Sox a 6-3 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Lamb.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Derek M. "But it's got to translate into wins."
