NWL's Premier Batter Picked Monday, September 1st , 1997 Damon Minor put together a good August to earn the Northwest League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Bellingham officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Mariners first baseman posted a .333 batting average with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 18 runs scored. Minor is swinging at a .323 pace on the year with 23 home runs, 47 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has played in 69 games. |
