Zaragoza Stretches Hit String to 20 Thursday, January 20th , 2000 Alex Zaragoza of the Portland Timberwolves tagged 1 hit in today's 18-2 loss to the Santa Domingo Colonials at Timberwolves Field to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Alex Zaragoza flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This season, Zaragoza has hit at a .307 clip with 35 RBIs, 4 home runs and 32 runs scored. |
