Federation Cup Series Game 1 Victory for Medici and Arizona
The stakes were high. Greg Medici was ready.

The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at The Snake Pit today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Arizona Vipers to victory in Game 1 of the Federation Cup Series. Medici held the Alabama Yellowhammers to 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 7. The win got the best-of-9 series off to a good start for Arizona, which now leads 1-0.

The Yellowhammers had trouble solving Medici, who surrendered no runs on 2 hits over 9 innings.

"Greg was able to execute his pitches," said Arizona manager Alex Cumana. "Simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Snake Pit in Phoenix.
