The Maryland Bridegrooms did just enough to secure a victory over the Pennsylvania Railroaders, 4-3, at Bridegrooms Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Meeker. The Bridegrooms raised their record to 47-55.

Art Burke was the walk-off hero for Maryland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bridegrooms first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Burke said in his postgame press conference.
