Star of the Week Selected in FL Monday, August 13th , 2068 23-year-old Todd Schwerdt sent shock waves through American Federation Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Frontier League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Schwerdt made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .440 average, 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 1 home run and 8 RBI. Where the Illinois Warhawks left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Schwerdt certainly made his mark last week. Thus far this season Schwerdt has hit .284 with 18 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 43 times. |
