Knights Roll to 8-3 Win Over Outlaws
|
The performance of Jay Canterbury proved critical in helping Ohio beat Texas, 8-3. The Knights first baseman went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Ohio reliever Pete Forlenza was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Jon Gomez took the loss for Texas. The win puts Ohio at 2-0.
Max Adams was 1-3 with a walk for Ohio. The slugging right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Jon Gomez. It was his 2nd hit of the season.
Said Ohio manager Harry Wyma: "We squared some balls up."
