A 5-RBI performance from Jay Meier, who is on pace for 115 RBI this season, helped the Minnesota Mallards beat the New Jersey Athletics, 10-8. The Mallards lead the Frontier League East by 14½ games.

Minnesota grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Meier hit a grand slam home run off Ryan Hogan. His 9th home run of the season put the Mallards out in front, 9-5.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Meier, "one at-bat at a time."
