Resonance Drop 4-1 Decision
|
The Arizona Vipers received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Frank Salerno, allowing them to bump off the Washington Resonance, 4-1. The winner was Salerno. He threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Jon Mitchell. Trevor Snider recorded the save, his 6th.
The Vipers got a big at-bat from left fielder Paddy Kerkhoven. For the game, Kerkhoven was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Arizona a 4-1 lead.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Kerkhoven told the Arizona News.
Arizona now has a record of 46-44 with the win.
