Steelheads Lose at Home, 2-1
|
Idaho got a big-time effort from pitcher Nick Long, but it wasn't enough to keep the Ohio Knights from winning the game, 2-1. Long threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Isaias van Opstal, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The Knights sit in 4th place in the Patriot League South with a record of 63-72.
Max Adams, who is tied for 9th in the PL in home runs with 30, had a direct impact on the outcome. Adams contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Ohio up, 2-0.
Ohio manager Harry Wyma commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
