Childers Blisters Philadelphia Sunday, July 28th , 2047 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not New York Mets right fielder Jonathan Childers, who missed the team's pre-game session at Citi Field but peppered the Philadelphia Phillies for 5 hits come game time. The Mets went on to take the 8-7 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often." Jonathan Childers singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 9th, singled in the 11th and struck out in the 13th.
