New Orleans-Nashville Brawl, Armagost and Herrera Suspended Saturday, August 24th , 2047 Yesterday at Zephyr Field Andy Armagost and Jorge Herrera got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the New Orleans Baby Cakes and Nashville Sounds. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Armagost will have to sit out 5 while Herrera would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. So far this year, Armagost is batting .227 with 7 home runs and 35 RBIs. This season Herrera has compiled a 7-12 mark, 4.22 ERA and made 24 starts. |
