The San Diego 1 (AZL) Padres1 are the class of the West Division.
With their record sitting at 38-15, the club officially captured the division title today for the 9th time.
"Every guy in the room has worked towards this goal all year long," said the club's manager. "I'm proud to call this my team."
The club will now go in search of their 4th Arizona Rookie League championship.
"It's not going to be easy, but winning the Round 2 is our ultimate goal," said starting pitcher Justin Sparks.

Rockies Come up Short of Playoffs

Coming close doesn't make missing the playoffs easier for the Grand Junction Rockies. Club manager said it's a "tough pill to swallow" as the club has now been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
Grand Junction last appeared in the postseason in 2042. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 19 times in their 30-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Rockies have made the playoffs 7 times. Grand Junction has won the Round 2 4 times in their history.
