Angels Come Up Short at Texas, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Texas Rangers and the Anaheim Angels, pitcher Al Maul was the difference between victory and defeat. The Texas right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Rangers win. Maul picked up the win for Texas, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-7. The Rangers improved to 47-71.
Texas took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, Eddie Zosky stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Rangers.
"Baseball is a funny game," said Zosky. "You've got to keep battling until things fall your way."
