Rays Win at Anaheim, 5-2
|
Tampa Bay registered a win at Edison Field by beating the Anaheim Angels, 5-2. Pitcher Matt Young was one reason why the Rays triumphed. The winner was Young. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Jim Moroney. The second-place Rays have won 6 in a row.
Tampa Bay used a clutch at-bat from Dan Driessen to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rays ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Tampa Bay manager Josh Callahan.
