Mariners Cruise to League Championship Series with Sweep
|
The Baltimore Orioles were simply overmatched by the Seattle Mariners in the Division Series.
The end result was a sweep, as Seattle has cruised to the League Championship Series, with the final win coming at Memorial Stadium by a score of 8-4.
"We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Howie Storie, who was named MVP of the Division Series. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this."
For the series, Storie hit .417 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Seattle Mariners will play against the Minnesota Twins in the next round. Minnesota won their series against the New York Yankees 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
