Pikemen Get One-Run Win at Phoenix
The Rockville Pikemen besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Phoenix shortstop Niaz Minhas by beating the Talons, 6-5, at Denny's Paul D. Lunn Memorial Stadium Presented By Subaru. Minhas went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. David Wade earned the save, his 12th, for the Pikemen. The Pikemen saw their win-loss record go to 32-35. At the same time, the Talons fell to 30-37.

Rockville used the timely hitting of Cam Whitten to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pikemen on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No time for flexing," said Whitten. "It's always one game at a time."
