Bears Dumped, 3-2, by Sacramento
|
The Sacramento Mad Popes, despite a fine performance by San Fernando pitcher Morgan Tomsett, grabbed a 3-2 win at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Tomsett allowed 2 runs over 5.2 innings. Boulos Naim earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Angus Trew closed the door for Sacramento, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Okyay Nisancî delivered a big hit for the Mad Popes. The veteran left fielder belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. The longball put Sacramento on top, 2-2. Overall, Nisancî went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said San Fernando manager Jim Hogan.
The win puts Sacramento at 8-1.
