The Twin Cities River Monsters got a stellar performance from pitcher Yoshii Takuda, who handcuffed the Long Beach offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. Takuda went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 10-4. Erik Brooks earned the save for Twin Cities, his 6th.

Dane Licht, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in for Twin Cities with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
