A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Nashville Bluebirds and Des Moines Kernels.

The Nashville Bluebirds downed the Des Moines Kernels, 7-4. The hitting star was designated hitter Fernando Sánchez. Sánchez went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Bluebirds. José Torres closed it out for his 4th save.

Sánchez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Nashville in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Sánchez took a fastball from Jon Brown and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Bluebirds to leap in front, 6-4.

Sánchez told a Nashville Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The Kernels fall to 4-6 and continue their rocky start to the 2065 season.
