Chicago Gets 6-4 Win
|
The Black Sox grabbed a win, 6-4, at Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Long Beach pitcher Franklin Badger. Badger went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Mike Baker, credited with the save, is now 25 for 29 in save opportunities. The win makes Chicago 49-53.
Chicago used a timely hit from Ragheb Burhan to get the win. The right fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Black Sox ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Burhan told the Chicago Observer. "It's as simple as that."
