Bluebirds Advance to Monty Brewster Memorial Series
|
The Nashville Bluebirds are heading to the Monty Brewster Memorial Series, having narrowly defeated the Sacramento Mad Popes.
Nashville edged Sacramento in the series 4-3, with a win at Les Paul Field in the clinching game by a 8-0 margin.
Alfonso Gonzáles turned in a strong offensive performance for the Bluebirds and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Monty Brewster Memorial Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Gonzáles continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .320 with a .379 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 11 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Nashville Bluebirds will play against the Charm City Jimmies in the next round. Charm City won their series against the Calgary Pioneers 4 games to 2. The Monty Brewster Memorial Series is scheduled to begin on October 28th , 2058.
