The Vancouver Mounties beat the Valencia Stars, 8-2, at Dunn Field. The Mounties got a fine performance from center fielder Ramón Moreno, who went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Sam Fisher earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and no strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. The win brings the Mounties to 4-10, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

With Vancouver leading 1-0 in the top of the sixth, Moreno hit a 2-run single off Valencia hurler Rubén Vázquez. It was the 12th hit of the season for Moreno and put his team ahead, 3-0.

Valencia manager Markus O'Byrne said his team was "out of sync."
