No one was more impactful than Reggie Vargas in the 11-3 Omaha win over Portland. Vargas, who is on pace for 114 RBI this season, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Sam Landry, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-2. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 2. With the win, the Cyclones improved to 30-21.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from first baseman Wilson Estrada, who in the bottom of the second hit a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Cyclones on top, 8-0.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Omaha skipper Julián Negrete.
