McBride Swats #700 Saturday, September 7th , 2058 It's official. Ernest McBride of the Brooklyn Robins hit his 700th home run tonight. The Brooklyn Robins took on the Rockville Pikemen and downed them 8-7, but the big story of the night was the milestone home run for McBride. He rounded the bases with a smile and politely stepped on home plate and walked back to the dugout. "700 is a big number, and I am thankful for the ability to get to this milestone. But it's all about the team today, my accomplishments are just one piece to the Robins puzzle." The Robins first baseman went 1-for-5 with 1 home run and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn Robins topped the Rockville Pikemen. For his career, McBride has batted .297 and hit 700 home runs.
