Perales Delivers Walk-Off Win for Braves
|
The Atlanta Braves had to overcome a fine performance from St. Louis pitcher Alex Moore to grab a 1-0 win at Turner Field. Moore allowed no runs over 6.1 innings. The Braves, now 20-8, have been playing some good baseball.
Coming to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Atlanta pinch hitter José Perales had a chance to be the hero. Facing St. Louis pitcher Kevin Kirkpatrick with runners on 1st and 3rd, Perales hit a sacrifice fly.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," St. Louis manager Sedateator Smith said following the tough loss.
