Toronto Stumbles Again, Falls, 2-1, to Los Angeles

Alan Negrón, who finished 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 207.2 in 2042, was terrific for the Los Angeles Angels in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays. His performance earned Negrón rave reviews. Dave Miles picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 7th of the year. The current losing streak for Toronto has reached 7 games.
Los Angeles took a 2-0 lead on Joaquín González's 13th home run of the season. The solo home run, which González hit in the top of the eighth, left Toronto pitcher Mike Smith visibly frustrated.
"Watch and learn," said González. "This is what good pitching looks like."
