The Baltimore Orioles downed the Texas Rangers, 10-0, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Ken McDonald led the way, going 3-for-5 for Baltimore. Wally Peters was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Oliver Hernández, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities.
With Baltimore leading 4-0 in the top of the fifth, McDonald came up to bat against Texas pitcher Rob Pratt. McDonald hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Orioles on top, 8-0.
