Athletics Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire Friday, October 8th , 2049 The Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox hooked up in a classic Division Series that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's Oakland heading off to the Championship Series, after a 5-3 win at U.S. Cellular Field tonight earned the 3-2 series win. Outside U.S. Cellular Field, whether they were supporters of Oakland or Chicago, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. José López played the hero for the Athletics in the series, as his MVP performance included a .444 batting average, with a .667 on-base percentage. He also had 3 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Oakland Athletics will play against the Cleveland Guardians in the next round. Cleveland won their series against the Baltimore Orioles 3 games to 0.
