Waddell Boosts Hit Streak to 30 Games
Friday, March 14th , 2053
Ed Waddell continued his streak at Surge Ballpark, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Aurora HS catcher was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 30 games. The Surge were not as fortunate, losing, 21-10, to the Santa Ana HS Dynamo.
"Waddell was hitting everything we threw at him," said Santa Ana HS manager Dan Lawson. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Ed Waddell walked in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Elton Day in the 4th, hit a sac fly in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th.
This year, Waddell has 2 home runs and a .356 batting average.
