Juan Maldonado Chosen AFL's Best Player

He may have less experience than most of his Arizona Fall League peers, but that didn't slow Juan Maldonado down at all in 2042.
At the age of 21, the Mesa shortstop has been named the winner of the Arizona Fall League Most Valuable Player.
He had a .375 batting average and a .422 on-base percentage this year. In 19 games he piled up 27 hits, 5 doubles, no triples, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 6. Sergio Rojas of the Salt River Rafters finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Julien Ortega of the Salt River Rafters finished third.

The games are over, the dust has settled, and the Arizona Fall League tournament is in the books. While the - are busy celebrating, the rest of the league is already looking forward to a run at the 2042 crown.
"We know we've got a target on our backs now," Peoria said.
Players around the league will try to build on their tournament performances, hoping to make a run at next year's title.
