Royals Best Twins in Pitching Duel
|
Kansas City picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, toppling the Minnesota Twins, 2-1. Pitcher Eric Unruh was one of the reasons the Royals triumphed. In 7 innings, Unruh surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Chris Rouse earned his 34th save in 36 chances.
Josh Horowitz took Jonathan Penney deep with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. On a full count fastball, Horowitz drilled a solo home run to right-center. It was his 21st home run of the season and put Kansas City on top, 2-1.
"Nice, tidy little win," Unruh said after the game.
The win makes Kansas City 54-83.
