Hanks's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback
Thursday, January 1st , 2043
Jerry Hanks is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for bone chips in his elbow. Apparently the injury worsened, so the White Sox sent the 26-year-old reliever back to the doctors for reexamination. Hanks told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Hanks will now miss a minimum of 8 weeks.
During his 80-game career Hanks has picked up 11 wins and 10 losses with no saves. He has posted a 4.09 ERA and recorded 237 strikeouts in 191.2 innings.
