In a tight contest at Kauffman Stadium, the Kansas City Royals edged the Minnesota Twins by the score of 5-4. Kansas City first baseman Erik Brassell, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Chris Rouse earned his 25th save in 27 chances.

Brassell contributed in the bottom of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Kansas City get the win.
