Nichols Bashes 5 Base Hits Thursday, June 24th , 2077 Halifax Defenders center fielder Carl Nichols really lit up the Tarboro Squalls with a 5-hit barrage today at Squalls Ballpark -- a performance that sparked the Defenders to a 6-4 triumph. He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes." Carl Nichols singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
