Round 1 Goes the Distance, Hamilton Prevails Tuesday, September 13th , 2078 The joy and relief on the faces of the Hamilton Beavers players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the Lincoln Donkeys. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Hamilton shortstop Bud Maddox, shortly after the 5-3 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the Round 2. Maddox won series MVP honors on the strength of his .409 batting average during the series. He also had a .500 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Hamilton Beavers will play against the Willow Run Wisenheimers in the next round.
