Wildcard Series Game 1 Victory for Gilbert and Seattle
The Seattle Mariners powered past the visiting Boston Red Sox, 9-3, in the opener of the Wildcard Series at T-Mobile Park. Seattle starting pitcher Logan Gilbert threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs, to lead the charge. The Mariners now lead the series 1-0.

Matt Chapman helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run home run. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Mariners.

"Logan was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Seattle manager Ken Hill.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
