San Diego Playoff Hopes Officially Zero
Wednesday, October 1st , 2025
The playoff hopes of the San Diego Padres have been extinguished for the year. Today, the team was mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the 2025 postseason.
"It's weird, yesterday we were all talking about what we needed to do to make it to the World Series and now we're just counting down the days until the offseason, said Padres starting pitcher Victor Lizarraga.
Before this season, the Padres last missed the playoffs in 2023. In the 57 years they have been a Major League Baseball franchise, they have made the playoffs 8 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Padres have missed the playoffs 7 times.
