The Tampa Bay Rays knocked off the Minnesota Twins, 7-3, in American League action at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay pitcher and Cape Coral, Florida, native Shane McClanahan had an outstanding performance. The third-place Rays now have a record of 76-62.

Brandon Lowe, who is tied for 10th in the AL in total bases with 251, came through for Tampa Bay with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
